In 2005 I first met the children at a foundation in Cali, Colombia on a mission’s trip. The foundation was only being supported by a local pastor and his church made up of mostly poor people. The children asked us to be what can best be translated as their godparents. Basically they were asking us to help take care of them. From then on we gave them what we could including food, clothes, shoes, toys, and money for other needs. But they still didn’t have enough for all of their needs. In October 2008 I was praying and felt the direction of God to start a nonprofit to help support these children. I had no idea how to do it, but I knew I had to.
